DAY 1: ARRIVAL TO CATANIA
After your landing in Catania, you will be fascinated by Etna’s majesty and its gentle slopes that descend to the sea.
Welcome appetizer, dinner and overnight in your farm-house located in Etna’s Eastern area, where a spectacular view on the oriental coast of our Island can be enjoyed.
Transfer to your accommodation included.
DAY 2: ETNA – TAORMINA
For the landscapes’ lovers, an early wake up will offer the view of a breathless sunrise which lights up the Towns of the oriental coast, Riposto, Giarre and Taormina.
The morning will be dedicated at the discovering of the Mount Etna, the biggest lava giant in Europe (3.343 mt high). Arrived at about 2000 mt, you’ll enjoy a fabulous view on the whole Island and then you’ll reach the Silvesters Craters, where there will be the opportunity to start an interesting excursion up to 3.000 mt with cableway and 4×4 jeep.
Lunch-tasting with different local wines and typical Sicilian dishes such as cheeses, olives and sausages.
On to Taormina, our most popular medieval city called also “the pearl of the Ionian Sea”, famous for its small streets and its marvelous Greek-Roman Theatre.
Then, spare time for free dinner and return to your accommodation for overnight.
DAY 3: SYRACUSE – CATANIA
In the morning, excursion to Syracuse, the most beautiful Greek colony in Sicily. You will visit the famous Aretusa Fountain, and the Archaeological Area with is marvelous theatre and the “Dionisio’s ear”.
Then, your guide will escort you through Ortigia, the old baroque city center where you’ll have time for free lunch in the old market, famous for the presence of many dairies.
In the afternoon, drive back for the visit of Catania, known for its original baroque style and for its streets built with black lava stones deriving from Mount Etna. Walking tour through Via Etnea, the baroque street Via Crociferi, Piazza Duomo with the Cathedral and the “Liotru” statue symbol of the city, the Roman Amphitheatre, the Opera House, the University, and the noble Palace of Biscari.
Dinner in a typical restaurant. Return to your accommodation and overnight.
DAY 4: PIAZZA ARMERINA – AGRIGENTO
After breakfast, an early start for Piazza Armerina, where you will visit the “Villa Romana del Casale”, famous for its fantastic mosaics in the heart of Sicily. Spare time for free lunch.
Then the tour will continue with the visit of Agrigento, with its amazing Temples’ Valley. Concordia Temple, Ercole Temple, Giunone Temple and Castore and Polluce Temples represent the most beautiful examples of the Greek Civilization in Sicily.
Dinner and overnight.
DAY 5: SCALE OF THE TURKS – SELINUNTE – ERICE – PALERMO
After breakfast, you’ll see first the Scale of the Turks, a white, pure natural rocky wall which rise on the sea on the western coast, between Realmonte and Porto Empedocle. Then the tour will continue with Selinunte for a visit to the biggest archaeological park of the Mediterranean Area.
Free lunch. In the afternoon arrival to the fascinating Erice, a small medieval village with ancient Greek origin, located on a little hill, where it will be possible to glimpse a fantastic view on the Egadi Islands. After the sunset, you’ll reach your accommodation in Palermo.
Dinner and overnight.
DAY 6: PALERMO – MONREALE
After breakfast, morning tour of Palermo, the Capital of Sicily and one of the richest town in the island for history and art. You’ll visit the Cathedral, the Palazzo dei Normanni with its Palatina Chapel, the Quattro Canti, the Opera House, the Pretoria Square.
Free lunch in the centre where we suggest to taste the typical palermitan street-food, such as bread with “panelle” or “cca meusa”.
The tour continues with Monreale, to admire the Cathedral with its superb 12th century mosaics, and the cloister of the Benedectine monastery with Moorish architecture.
Back to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.
DAY 7: CEFALU’ – CACCAMO
After breakfast, transfer to Cefalù for the visit of the Norman Dome, rich of Byzantine mosaics.
Spare time for free lunch.
In the afternoon, you’ll reach Caccamo where you will see one of the best preserved Norman castles of Italy.
Back to your accommodation and spare time for relax, dinner and overnight.
DAY 8: PALERMO – END OF OUR SERVICES
After breakfast end of our services.
At the end of the tour you will receive a nice souvenir !
